Kangana Ranaut has taken to Twitter to demand justice for a girl in Bihar against whom a horrific crime was perpetrated. The teen was burnt alive and died later after battling for her life on November 17. Ranaut tweeted, “Our daughters are not safe, everyday there are bigger and even more heinous crimes against them unfold. Dear liberals I’ve a request don’t look at victims or criminals through your secular lens. At least don’t divide them, Let’s fight against injustice together #gulnaz_ko_nyay_do. (sic)”

Ranaut demanded justice for the girl whose name was revealed as Gulnaaz Khatoon.  Kangana also had a message for 'liberals' in the tweet. She said, "Dear liberals I’ve a request don’t look at victims or criminals through your secular lens."

In this horrific crime, the accused named Satish had teased the girl and when she objected, he set her on fire on October 30 at Rasoolpur Habib village. Gulnaz sustained 75 per cent burn injuries and could not be saved. The accused also includes Chandan Rai, who has been arrested by Vaishali Police in Bihar. Search is being carried out to nab co-accused Vinay Rai and his son Satish Rai.

The girl had named  Satish, his father Vinay, and cousin brother Chandan as the accused in a video statement. The video of the victim has gone viral on the social media.

She had alleged that while Satish had set her on fire, Vinay and Chandan helped him commit the crime.

Another incident of violence against women has come to light yesterday. It has been reported that a woman attempted to set herself on fire in Bulandshahr after she was allegedly pressurized to withdraw her complaint against a man who was arrested for allegedly raping her.

SSP Bulandshahr Santosh Kumar Singh was quoted by ANI as saying, "Victim attempted self-immolation as she was pressurised to go in for compromise regarding the case by a family member of accused. She is undergoing treatment."
