Jharkhand Lockdown News: On Wednesday, the Jharkhand government announced a complete lockdown from June 12, 2021, starting from 5 PM till June 14, 2021, until 6 AM in order to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. Only the essential services have been exempted from this order.

Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta informed about this announcement. He also informed that except for Jamshedpur, the state government has extended the hours of operation for the shops in the state. News agency ANI tweeted about this decision by the Jharkhand government. The tweet said, "There will be a complete lockdown from Saturday 5 pm till Monday 6 am in Jharkhand. Essential services exempted. Shops opening time has been extended by 2 hours in districts except for Jamshedpur. Now shops will be allowed to open till 4 pm in 23 districts: State Health Minister." 

 

On June 9, 2021, Information and Public Relations Department of the Jharkhand government has also issued a circular to all the departments of the state government, as well as the district administration to ensure 'Swasthya Suraksha Saptah' from 6 AM on June 10, 2021, till June 17, 2021, until 6 AM. The guidelines to be observed in this period are as follows: 

1) All shops permitted to open till 4 PM in all districts except Purvi Singhbhum. In Purvi Singhbhum, all shops with the exception of garment, cloth, jewellery, footwear and cosmetics shops will have to be remained closed.

2) Shopping malls, cinema theatres, multiplexes, banquet halls, bars, etc. will also remain closed

3) Home delivery and take away are permitted for restaurants

4) All central government and state government offices have been permitted to function with one-third capacity till 4 PM

5) Unhindered transportation of all goods are permitted

6) All religious places or places of worship have been allowed to open but visitors are not allowed

7) All indoor and outdoor congregation of more than five people have been prohibited in the state with the exception of marriage and last rites where maximum 20 people are allowed. It must be noted that marriages should be held at courts or homes and not in any public places including community halls

8) All stadiums, gyms and swimming pools will remain closed 

9) Movement of people is permitted from 5 PM to 6 AM only with respect to activities permitted beyond 4 PM,
