JEE Main 2021 Dates: All speculations regarding the JEE Main exam 2021 are likely to be put to rest today. Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ will announce the JEE Main 2021 dates today around 6 pm on his official Twitter account. The minister has said that he will also inform about the number of JEE Main 2021 attempts will be allowed for the Engineering entrance test.

In a big surprise, on 15th December, the National Testing Agency (NTA) had released a notification on jeemain.nta.nic.in mentioning JEE Main 2021 dates and a new examination pattern among other information. However, for some unknown reason it withdraw it within hours of its release and a clarification was released saying JEE Main 2021 Dates had not been finalised. The entire issue left the candidates in a state of confusion. It took a tweet from the Union Minister himself before clarity was restored.

The education minister has posted a video message on the microblogging website Twitter informing about the even declaring JEE Main 2021 Dates. “Thank you all for sharing your constructive suggestions regarding JEE Main exams. We have got your suggestions examined. I will be announcing the schedule, number of times the exam will be held at 6 PM today. Stay tuned,” he said in the tweet. 

Know all about JEE Main 2021 Dates notification, its release and withdrawal 

The National Testing Agency (NTA) released a JEE Main 2021 exam notification containing dates, examination guidelines and other details on the entrance examination for engineering. The notification was released on Wednesday. The notification had said that the JEE Main 2021 will be held in four sessions.  

However, the JEE Main 2021 dates bulletin was removed from the official NTA website, jeemain.nta.nic.in, a few hours later. The announcement saying registrations were to begin on 15 December was removed as well.  

Meanwhile the Ministry of Education later released a statement saying there has been no decision on the JEE Main 2021, yet. 

The 15 December notification also said that the JEE Main 2021 will be held in more regional languages. The languages mentioned in the now-withdrawn bulletin were -- English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. 

Union Minister for Education Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ has earlier indicated this. During a webinar with students, Pokhriyal had said that his Ministry will explore the possibility of conducting JEE Main 2021 exam in multiple shifts.

The bulletin had also said that the first session of JEE Main 2021 will be held in February 2021 which will be followed by three sessions in March, April, and May 2021. “This is being done to ensure that the JEE (Main)2021 does not interfere with the Board examinations, which may be held at different times across the States/UTs,” NTA has said.
