The National Testing Agency (NTA) has decided to postpone the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2020 amid lockdown to contain the coronavirus pandemic. Several other exams have already been cancelled or postponed amid the 21-day countrywide lockdown. In an official circular dated March 31, the NTA said the JEE Main April 2020 examination, which was scheduled to be held on April 5, 7, 8, and 11, has now been pushed off to the last week of May 2020.

The exam conducting authority will announce the exact dates on the official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in. The circular also clarified the calculation around amid cards. It said that the NTA JEE Main 2020 admit card will be released after April 15, depending upon the situation. 

To keep track of the regular updates, all candidates are requested to check the official website. The official updates can also be checked on the website nta.ac.in.

The NTA has also extended the application dates of various entrance examinations, including NET, IGNOU Ph.D, JNUEE, NCHM JEE and AIAPGET.

The other exams postponed too due to the 21-day lockdown and coronavirus pandemic are CBSE, ICSE, BSE and Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Meghalaya state board examinations. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has postponed the NDA and NA (I) Exam 2020 and Civil Services Personality Exam 2019. NEET 2020 has been postponed too. 

ICAI CA and LOC AAO, AE and AA Prelims exams have been postponed till further notice.

Meanwhile, 19 cases were reported from Maharashtra, taking the number of cases in the state to 320. The total number of cases in the country have now gone past 1500 mark.
