IRCTC food menu in train: Train journeys are often very tiring, as they take very long hours to reach the travellers to their destination. Aside from time travails, the food quality on the trains or  Indian Railways' platforms is of very bad quality, adding further to problems. Even as the the Indian Railways is working on speeding up trains it is also exploring various ways to make available foods that are hygienic and which will taste much better.

The initiative has been rolled out in the form of an IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering And Tourism Corporation) app that offers you option to order foods from outside branded outlets like KFC, Haldiram, among others. Now, you can have foods ranging from lavish to affordable ones on trains or at station premises without compromising on quality or taste. Also, now you have a wide range of food options to choose from. Innovative exercises are carried out for instance, food vending machines in Coimbatore-Bengaluru Uday Express and delivering Alphonso mangoes to passengers are the latest editions.

Foods and beverages are available at  cheap prices. You can now buy IRCTC coffee at Rs 7 at stations and on trains. You can buy 7 pooris with dry potato and pickles at just Rs 15 at stations too.   On the other hand,  Rail Neer water you can get for Rs 15 per liter on stations as well on trains. A full meal also can be available at Rs 50 or below. Standard thali meals (non vegetarian only in ref rooms) are available for Rs 40. Standard thali meals (vegetarian) are available for Rs 35 at all stations and on trains.  You can have tea at just Rs. 5 on stations and trains. Tea with tea bags is priced at Rs. 7, while tea in pots is available at Rs. 10.

If you are non-vegetarian, then you can have a full meal at Rs. 50 on stations and Rs. 55 on trains. On the other hand, Vegetarian breakfast options are priced at Rs. 25 on stations, and Rs. 30 on trains. Non-veg breakfast is available at just at Rs. 30 on all stations and Rs. 35 on trains.  Also at Rs. 35, you can have a standard thali in AC rooms of stations.
