IRCTC e-catering app: What good is a journey without delicious food! But, that's a challenge most of us face while travelling on trains. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) comes to your rescue with its online food ordering options. The passengers on Indian Railways trains can order food through the IRCTC e-catering mobile application and via the website www.ecatering.irctc.co.in. The app can be downloaded from Google Play Store and Apple Store while offline order can be placed by calling on 1323.

The app allows passengers to order food on select stations including - Mumbai Central (BCT) , Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminal (CST), New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS), Old Delhi Railway Station(DEL), Bangalore City Junction (SBC), Chennai Central (MAS), Kanpur (CNB), Allahabad Junction (ALD), Varanasi (BSB), Lucknow (LKO), Itarasi (ET), Bhopal Junction (BPL), Vijayawada (BZA), among others. 

What can passengers order using IRCTC e-catering app?

Almost anything! The IRCTC on its website says, "From a simple combo of daal, roti, and chawal to Mughlai biryani and delicious pizzas, passengers can exercise their freedom and delve into yummy food in Indian railways." The facility can be accessed by passengers who have a valid reservation ticket. It can be availed by passengers of all trains, including Rajdhani/Shatabdi, originating, stopping, terminating at any railway stations where e-catering services are available.

2. Enter the PNR number.

3. Select the railway station where you want the food to be ordered. 

4. Select the vendor from who you want the food.

5. Select the meal to be booked from the vendor menu.

6. Select the payment option - cash on delivery or online payment.

7.  Confirm the order

When can you order food?

The IRCTC e-catering services are available only between 6 pm and 10 pm. In case a train is running late and reaches the meal delivery station beyond the service time then the delivery of the meal is not guaranteed by IRCTC. But, the passengers will get full refund in this case.
