Indian Swachhata League, an inter-city competition is set to take place between the youths of the city towards building Garbage Free Cities on September 17, Seva Diwas.

‘Swachh Amrit Mahotsav’ is a fortnight of activities planned by the government to stir action around 'swachhata' (cleanliness). It will begin from PM Narendra Modi's birthday — September 17, and last till the birth anniversary of Gandhiji — October 2. 

Swachhata Diwas has been announced to celebrate eight years of Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban. Alongside this, the Indian Swachhata League has been announced for the first time. More than 1,850 city teams across the country have registered to compete.

Citizens across the nation can search for their cities on MyGov and register to join their respective city teams in the planned Swachhata activities.

Here is how to join respective city teams, step

Step 1: Visit the official website-- https://innovateindia.mygov.in/swachhyouthrally/

Step 2: On the homepage, click on 'Click here to register'.

Step 3: Log in to your MYGov account. OTP will be sent on the registered email id or phone number. One may also log in with Parichay / MeriPehchaan or use Social Profile.

Step 4: Fill in the required details — State/UT, City, Name, Email id, Mobile no. and click on 'Join us'.

Step 5: The participant is advised to carefully note down all location, time, and contact information provided for the respective city while filling out the form.

Last date to register: September 17, 6 pm.

After the event culminates, every city team will need to submit an official entry regarding their activities, along with photos and videos. City teams will be evaluated on the basis of youth engagement, innovativeness of the activities and impact

Post evaluation, the 10 best teams across the country will be invited to a national event in October 2022 (Team Captains and other representatives)

City teams are advised to use official hashtags #SwachhAmritMahotsav and #YouthVsGarbage on September 17. The most unique citizen initiatives and posts will feature on the National Mission page, the official website said. 

Various other interesting initiatives have been lined up during the duration (September 17- October 2) such as the Start-Up Challenge Forum, Toycathon- Making toys from waste, Technology Exhibition, Swachh Seher Samvad, etc.
