Indian Railways informed that rail traffic stalled for about 20 hours on the Ratlam- Godhra section of the Delhi-Mumbai route after a section of a bridge in this stretch caved in, according to a report. The train movements were restored after 20 hours. The cave in was repaired around 7 pm on Sunday after it was spotted. Many trains were reportedly delayed due to the cave-in. The cave in was spotted in Banjranggarh and Thandla Road stations on the Ratlam-Godhra section. The Indian Railways train movement was restored at 3.30 pm on Monday.

When the information about the cave-in received, the Indore-Pune Express was scheduled to pass on the damaged line. The train was stopped immediately and the entire traffic on the route was diverted to another track, said J K Jayant, Public Relations Officer, Western Railway (Ratlam Division). Many trains were delayed due to this.
