IRCTC Tatkal ticket booking rules 2018: Indian Railways has been catering to the interests of the lakhs of travellers in the country, and one such move is to facilitate them in their last minute planning through Tatkal ticket booking. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), which provides the facility of online booking of tickets, has recently introduced new norms in this regard. For AC Tatkal tickets booking, the new rules say that one can use this facility that starts from 10 am and for non-AC ticket booking one can login at 11 am. This service is available a day before the travelling date.

As the travellers' interest has been given priority, the IRCTC helps passenger to claim complete refund of fare and Tatkal charges if a train is more than three hours late, and they can also claim a full refund if their train’s route is diverted and passengers do not want to travel on that route.

Further, the IRCTC also provides a passenger opportunity to claim refund on Tatkal tickets if the train’s route is diverted and the boarding station as well as destination or both not located on the diverted route. Passengers can claim full refund if they are accommodated in lower class and do not wish to travel in the lower class. They can even be paid the difference if they agree to travel in the lower class.

All these facilities have been provided by Indian Railways to make travellers' journey on Indian Railways memorable and hassle-free.

The information available on IRCTC website informs that maximum of four passengers per PNR can be booked on Tatkal e-tickets. It also informs that passengers should carefully check the train name and station names, Date of journey, Class, Quota, Boarding Point etc. displayed on the reservation page are same as desired by you.
