Very soon Indian Railways' Rajdhani Express would run from Agartala to Delhi twice a week. This good news for the public comes in the wake of bi-weekly Humsafar Express from Agartala being flagged off by Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb. Deb in the presence of the other ministers, MLAs and Railway officials flagged off bi-weekly Humsafar Express from Agartala railway station on Tuesday.

Deb also said that work for laying alternate rail track will begin soon as Agartala would be a business gateway of the region, reported ANI.  
 
During the flagging-off ceremony, the CM said "Prime Minister Narendra Modi had declared to transform India in the transportation sector. Today Northeast is moving in that direction and bi-weekly movement of Hamsafar express proves that. Very soon Rajdhani express shall also start bi-weekly from here".

Indian Railways Humsafar Express, will connect Agartala with Bengaluru. It will travel 3,542 km distance within 64 hours and its fare is a bit more than other long distance trains.

Biplab also revealed that the Narendra Modi led-government has sanctioned Rs. 90, 000 crore for railway development in the Northeast region.
