Indian Railways News: Getting a confirmed Indian Railways ticket on short notice is a hectic task, especially during the peak season. However, a Mumbai-based startup is set to make it easier. 'Railofy' would allow Indian Railways passengers to book a 'Tatkal Ticket' by paying between Rs 50 to Rs 500 per traveler as registration. Once registered, you need not worry about anything.

According to the Railofy officials, even if your ticket remains wait listed or on RAC (Reservation Against Cancellation), the platform will arrange your journey via air. So, a Tatkal Ticket booked at the Indian Railways may turn out to be a flight ticket.

"Our business model is like the insurance of an Indian Railways passenger's journey. What they need is to register their Tatkal Ticket on our website or App paying charges from Rs 50 to Rs 500 (as applicable) per passenger and we assure them guaranteed journey within 24 hours if the ticket remains to waitlisted or RAC," Rishabh Singhvi, Co-founder at Railofy said, about company's business model.

He said that Railofy arranges a flight journey for the passenger from the nearest airport from its boarding station if the tatkal ticket is not confirmed. He said that right now, Railofy offer is available on AC Tatkal Train ticket from Mumbai but soon they are going to expand at the pan India level.

Singhvi went on to add, "This travel insurance offer helps the Indian Railways passengers coming out of the net of illegal travel agents thronging around the railway ticket counters and railway platforms." 

On how does the Railofy charge India Railways passengers holding a Tatkal Ticket Rishabh Singhvi said, "Out charges depend upon the waitlist number and the destination of the rail traveler."

So, if a Mumbaikar has to travel from Indian railways during an emergency, then he or she can give a try to this travel tech startup. Who knows, their Indian Railways Tatkal Ticket may turn out a flight ticket.
