Indian Railways, after heavy rainfall in Mumbai, has cancelled the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express for the second consecutive day on Wednesday. Water-logging in the city has affected train services on the stretch. Both up and down Shatabdi Express between Mumbai and Ahmedabad were cancelled, said Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Mumbai Division of Western Railway in a series of tweets.

"Trains are running on restricted speed only between Churchgate - Bhayander section. Further, positions of trains may change, depending upon the weather conditions," DRM WR Mumbai Central (@drmbct) said in a tweet.

On Tuesday, The Western Railways have cancelled 11 express trains during July 10 to July 13 due to waterlogged tracks. On the other hand, the Central Railways cancelled five mail trains from July 10- July 11.

The NDRF and the police rescued around 2,000 passengers of the two Mumbai-bound trains, that got stuck between Nallasopara and Vasai stations of the Western Railway due to waterlogging.

Another 2,000 passengers of the Shatabdi Express and Vadodara Express were rescued by NDRF, the police and, the fire brigade.

The train service between Nallasopara and Virar stations were suspended for the entire day on Tuesday. A total of 150 suburban services remained cancelled.
