India vs South Africa T20 squad 2019: The Indian cricket team is set to start its domestic season with a T20 series against South Africa, starting Sunday in Dharamshala. Led by Virat Kohli, the men in blue would to start the series with a win against an inexperienced South African side led by a new skipper - Quinton de Kock. Interestingly, the entire South African squad put together has played just 210 T20Is with David Miller (70) alone contributing one-third of that figure. On the other hand, India's top three - Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli - have 219 T20Is to their name.

The series will, nevertheless, act as a building ground for next year's T20 World Cup, with both the sides expected to do several experiments. Notably, the Indian side would be without Mahendra Singh Dhoni which gives Rishabh Pant another chance to establish himself in the limited overs side. "Look, experience is always going to matter whether you like it or not. I mean there are a numerous number of times people have given up on sportsmen and they have proved people wrong and he has done that many times in his career as well. So one great thing about him is that he thinks for India cricket. And whatever we think, he is on the same page. The alignment is there," Virat Kohli had to say about MS Dhoni ahead of the match.
