"As I see the world in the 21st century, there will be two very fiercely fought wars -- one is a war for prosperity and a better life, and the other is a war for talent and security. We can win both these wars with a comprehensive India-US partnership," he said.

Ambani was speaking in Philadelphia on Monday night when he was awarded the prestigious Othmer Gold Medal for his entrepreneurial leadership that has resulted in the expansion of India`s petroleum refining industry and creation of the Jamnagar Refinery in Gujarat, according to a company statement issued here on Tuesday.

The award was handed over to Ambani on the Heritage Day of The Chemical Heritage Foundation (CHF) by Carsten Reinhardt, president and chief executive officer of CHF, and Raj Gupta, chairman of Delphi Automotive (formerly chairman, president and chief executive of Rohm and Hass). Mukesh Ambani dedicated the award to the "indomitable spirit" of his father Dhirubhai Ambani.

The CHF established the Othmer Gold Medal in 1997 to honour outstanding individuals who have made multifaceted contributions to chemical and scientific heritage through activities in areas as innovation, entrepreneurship, research, education, public understanding, legislation, or philanthropy.
