Independence Day 2018 traffic restrictions: With 15th August just a day away, the national capital Delhi is all set to turn into a fort. Delhi Police has already placed barricades and deployed its personnel at important locations to keep a check on any untoward incident.

As Independence Day rehearsal is on, there are some restrictions in place for two-wheelers and four-wheelers on certain roads and routes. 

Delhi Police has said that almost half-a-dozen roads will remain closed and traffic will be diverted on some routes keeping in mind the security arrangements. 

Six roads - Netaji Subhash Marg, Lothian Road, S P Mukherjee Marg, Chandni Chowk Road, Nishad Raj Marg and Esplanade Road - and its Link Road will be closed for general public from 5 am to 9 am on 14th and 15th August, reported PTI quoting Delhi Police.

If your vehicle doesn't have parking labels for the rehearsal parade, you must avoid Mathura Road, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Tilak Marg, Subhash Marg, Jawaharlal Nehru Marg and Ring Road between Nizamuddin Bridge and ISBT bridge.

Delhi Police has also barred the movement of goods vehicles between Nizamuddin bridge and Wazirabad bridge from 12 midnight of August 14 to 11 am on August 15.

Local city buses including DTC will not move on Ring Road from 4 am to 11 am on August 15, said the PTI report.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has said parking facilities will not be available at the Delhi Metro stations from 6 am on August 14 till 2 pm on August 15.

You are advised to take alternative routes available to avoid any inconveniences.
