Gone are the days when animated films used to have a limited viewership and collections in India. The befitting example is the recently launched animated superhero movie, Incredibles 2.

 Released on June 22,the film  opened very well for a Hollywood film and earned as much as Rs 3.85 crore. Incredibles 2 was released on around 1,000 screens across the country.

The love and acceptance  for  the film seems to have  increased as the film successfully reaped Rs 6.49 cr and 7.51 cr on Day 2 and Day 3 respectively for a net collection ofRs 17.85 cr.

With this , it becomes Disney/Pixar's biggest release in India - the film has scored over Rs 22.89 cr gross at the box office.

The overwhelming response and success of this film is definitely a positive sign of a changing trend  for animation film in the country.

One of the most awaited Hollywood releases of this year, Incredibles 2 is indeed winning hearts of the fan base. What also helped the movie was the fact that the summer vacations are on and children flocked to theatres to watch this new release.

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the India Box Office report on Twitter.

He wrote: “Hollywood films continue to score... #Incredibles2 finds acceptance... Shatters the myth that animation films find limited takers in India... Fri 3.85 cr, Sat 6.49 cr, Sun 7.51 cr. Total: 17.85 cr Nett BOC... Gross BOC: 22.89 cr... India biz.”

The animated superhero movie is the second instalment of the 2004 superhit film series, 'The Incredibles'.

Written and directed by Brad Bird. 'Incredibles 2' , the film is produced by Pixar Animation Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Picture. It features Craig T Nelson, Holly Hunter, Sarah Vowell and Samuel L Jackson, Huck Milner, Bob Odenkirk and Catherine Keener .
