The IMD in Mumbai issued a heavy rainfall warning for Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts for three consecutive days, starting Thursday, stating "Heavy to very heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg for next three days."

Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) today said that Mumbai is very likely to get intense heavy rainfalls, and issued warnings for west coast, citing the development of low pressure area over Bay, this Saturday night and Sunday. 

Earlier on Thursday, it predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places is very likely over Goa, Konkan, Saurashtra and Kutch. Heavy downpour is also expected over Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi. The forecaster aded, "Heavy rainfall at isolated places over West Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Assam & Meghalaya, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat Region, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and Central Maharashtra." the forecaster said.

It also predicted that strong winds, speed reaching 40-50 kmph, are likely to prevail over the north, central and adjoining southwest the Arabian Sea, east-central Bay of Bengal and along and off Gujarat-Maharashtra-Goa coasts, advising fishermen not to venture into these areas for the next few days. 

In Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, Chenab river is flowing above danger mark; water has entered houses in Pul Doda. Deputy Commissioner. Dr Sagar D Doifode, said, "we had issued an advisory that water-flow is going to increase due to rains in upper hilly areas, evacuation will be done."
