If you hate waiting, Delhi Metro has a solution to some of your problems. Delhi Metro had recently launched a QR code-based ticketing facility for travel on Airport Express Line. Passengers travelling on this line don't need to stand in long queues to book their tickets or buy tokens. Instead, the commuters can use the QR Code generated on their smartphones instead of smart cards or tokens to travel. The Delhi Metro even reminded passengers about the facility.

"The Airport Express Line of Delhi Metro having QR code based ticketing facility for single journey through smartphones is extending the same facility for trip based journeys for its passengers from tomorrow i.e, 24th February 2020," DMRC said, in a new tweet. The QR code-based ticket booking service is available through Ridlr App’ or Paytm app without physically coming to the Metro station.

How to book QR code-based tickets:

- Go to Google Play Store or App Store and download the Ridlr app for Android or iOS platforms.

- Register on the app using valid credentials including mobile number and email id.

- Buy a QR ticket by selecting the origin station and destination station.

- Select the number of passengers and you will get fare for the selected journey.

- Pay the fare using internet banking/credit/debit card.

- You will get the QR code on your smartphone.

What to do now?

Use the QR code at the QR enabled AFC entry gates of the Metro stations on Airport Line. You can walk in as the gates open. Tap the code again while leaving from the station. All six metro stations of Airport Express Line have been provided with a set of two AFC gates each for entry and exit through QR enabled system.
