In a bid to fill more than 76,500 posts in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), the Ministry of Home Affairs has launched a massive recruitment drive. SSC and UPSC are likely to either initiate the selection process or will be beginning the selection process soon. Out of the total vacancies, SSC will conduct recruitment process for 54,953 vacancies which are for the post of Constable (General Duty), the admit cards of which have recently been released for Constable GD post. The written examination for the same will start from February 11, 2019 and will end on March 11, 2019.

CRPF has the maximum 21,566 vacancies out of the 54,953 Constable GD vacancies which is followed by BSF (16,984), SSB (8,546), ITBP (4,126) and Assam Rifles (3,076). The remaining posts are for CISF and other CAPFs. However, out of the total vacancies, 7,646 posts are for women and 47,307 for Men.

SSC will begin the written examination for 1,073 vacancies in various CAPFs at the level of Sub-Inspector (GD) on March 12, 2019 and end on March 16, 2019. BSF has 508 vacancies and is followed by CRPF, which has 274 vacancies then comes SSB with 206 vacant post and ITBP with 85 vacancies.

The Assistant Commandant (GD) level has 466 vacancies under it and the written examination for the same has already been conducted by UPSC and the results of the examination has been declared on January 10, 2019.

The shortlisted candidates from the examination will undergo Physical/Medical Examination and Sashatra Seema Bal (SSB) will conduct it from February 25, 2019 onwards.
