A press release from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on September 4, 2021, stated that Himachal Pradesh has successfully covered its entire eligible population with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination.

Yesterday, PM Modi tweeted from his official Twitter handle about the interaction today. He tweeted, "Himachal Pradesh has set a benchmark in the fight against Covid by giving the first dose of vaccine to all eligible people. Will have the privilege of interacting with many such beneficiaries and health workers of the state through video conferencing tomorrow at 11 am."

 

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur will also be present during the interaction of the health workers and the beneficiaries of the COVID-19 vaccination programme with the Prime Minister.

The PMO informed that the efforts by the state included geographical prioritisation to focus on difficult terrains, initiatives to ensure mass awareness, and door to door visits by ASHA workers, among others. Furthermore, the state gave special attention to women, elderly, divyangjans, industrial workers, daily wagers etc. and undertook special campaigns like “Suraksha ki Yukti – Corona se Mukti”  to attain this milestone.

Now, speaking of the COVID-19 vaccination scenario in the country, as per the date released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on September 5, 2021, India’s Cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeded 68.46 crore. As on September 5, 2021, 42,766 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
