Hichki box office collection: Starring Rani Mukerji and Directed by Siddharth P Malhotra this film has coasted along as far as its collection figures are concerned. It has not set the BO on fire but that was not what was expected from this film as it was released across only 1341 screens (domestic 961 + overseas 380). It was the comeback movie for Mukerji and through it she is testing the waters before making any further moves in Bollywood. The reviews were good enough to start with and the word of mouth was adequate if not sensational to keep the cash tills ringing. It has now emerged that Hichki box office collection has reached the Rs 26.10 crore mark by the seventh day. On the seventh day it earned Rs 3.40 Cr, which is a great number for a week-old film. However, it may see a bad decline now that Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani starrer Baaghi 2 has released. Considering that the new movie is running to packed houses, it may push out Hichki.

Rani Mukerji was once the top Bollywood actress, but making a comeback is always tough. This was reflected a bit in Hichki box office collection. Having said that, the earnings of the film are great considering the ground reality. It had also to battle other movies in theatres that also included Ajay Devgn's Raid. Significantly, even though it was not expected to be such a strong movie, it has left viewers impressed. So much so that it is being reported by Bollywood Hungama that the President of India himself may watch the movie on Saturday.

The reason behind it may well be that the movie is all about sending a strong message to the society at large. The message is quite relevant and positive. It is about being saddled with a bodily disadvantage and still managing to turn it into an advantage of sorts and winning in the end. As such, Hichki box office collections have been good and will go a long way in padding up the reputation of Rani Mukerji as an actor who can indubitably make a great impact on people's minds through her strong screen presence. Notably, Hichki managed to rack up this big number despite never having gone into double digits. The highest Hichki collection was Rs 6.70 cr on day 3, which was a Sunday.
