Prime Minister Narendra Modi will depart midnight today for a four-nation tour of Africa with the issues of energy, food security, trade, maritime cooperation and diaspora interactions high on his agenda.

The four countries include Mozambique, South Africa, Tanzania and Kenya from July 7 to 11 on his first official visit to the African mainland.

PM Modi, however, is keen on his visit to Kenya, which is scheduled on the evening of July 10. 

Speaking about this in a Facebook post he said, "India-Kenya ties have stood the test of time. Both our nations have had very strong people-to-people ties and both nations have successfully fought colonialism in the previous century."

He further gave an entire schedule of his visit in Kenya which includes tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and Mzee Jomo Kenyatta. It also includes an interaction with students at the Nairobi University.
