In a move that will provide relief to residents and builders in the city as well as help curb corruption, Noida Authority is planning to provide online approval to building maps. According to a report by DNA, the scheme is expected to be launched by the Noida Authority in October. Initially, the first phase of the plan would only allow approval of residential and industrial building maps.

Online approval facility for other properties like commercial spaces, schools, and hospitals will be launched in December this year.

The report said authority's plan includes acceptance of online payment of the approved fees. This will make the payment process and would, therefore, help in making the process even more transparent. The authority will launch the building plan management system, which will automate online documents submission, online fee payment, architect registration, building plan approval and approval to completion and occupation certificates.

“Earlier the map approval process was done manually but now we have planned to launch a facility for online approval of maps. Once the facilities come into action, a person can easily get the approval of building map online by just sitting at home” DNA quoted Alok Tandon, chairman, Noida Authority, as saying.

How building plan management system works

According to Tandon, users would be able to apply for map approval online by visiting the Noida authority’s website and select the online approve map option. They will have to fill their details like name, email ids, to create an online profile on the website. “Consumers will be provided with a one-time password, after which they can log in for map approval and upload soft copy of the map and the other documents required,” Tandon told the daily.

The consumers would have to deposit application fee online after filling all details. After this, the system will generate a message that will be sent to the map approval authority, who will verify that the map is not violating building by-laws and other details before approving it.
