Ratan Tata attended the Campion School till the 8th standard and studied at the Cathedral and John Connon School in Mumbai and the Bishop Cotton School in Shimla in the following years. He went to Cornell University to study architecture and briefly worked with Jones and Emmons in Los Angeles before returning to India in 1962. In the same year, he joined the Tata Group and worked with the Tata Steel division in Jamshedpur. Later on, he completed a management course at Harvard Business School in 1975. Ratan Tata took over as the chairman of the Tata Group in 1991.
