Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level meeting in New Delhi on Monday to assess the progress on Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and Aadhaar programme.

He said that the government has saved the public exchequer Rs 24,000 crore from going into the wrong hands

In a series of tweets PM Modi said that about Rs 10,000 crore was saved through the used of DBT and another Rs 14,000 crore had been saved by removing 3.5 crore duplicate beneficiaries in the PAHAL scheme. 

He further urged officials to create error-free platforms where benefits of government schemes go to the people it is intended to.
