GATE 2020 Exam: Refuting authenticity of all e-mails sent to Graduate Aptitude Test Engineering or GATE 2020 applicants, GATE authorities have said that there was no such communication being taken place from the authority. GATE authority further announced that it doesn't indulge in such communication as they have their official website from where they communicate with the applicants. The official website of the GATE is gate.iitd.ac.in. GATE 2020 aspirants have been receiving some specially designed GATE test series which forced GATE authorities to come forward and clear the confusion.

GATE authorities issued notice on its website gate.iitd.ac.in citing, "GATE 2020 authority is not involved with any specially designed test series for GATE aspirants." The notice further adds, "Please do not believe in the phishing/fake emails which are being circulated to the GATE aspirants by some fraudulent groups. Please note that all the relevant information about the GATE 2020 is available only at this official website."

IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) institutes, which are part of the GATE organisation include Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee. GATE 2020 Exam for which registration has been done recently, is conducted on behalf of the National Coordination Board or NCB-GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.

Passing in GATE exam is a mandatory requirement for engineering students seeking admission and financial assistance to various Master's programs and direct Doctoral programs in Engineering/Technology/Architecture and also Doctoral programs in relevant branches of Science, in the institutions supported by the MHRD and other Government agencies. In fact, even in those colleges and institutions, which admit students without MHRD scholarship or assistantship, the GATE qualification is a mandatory requirement.
