How much India earns from foriegn tourists? The trend shows Foreign Exchange Earnings (FEEs) through tourism  have spurt this year. FEEs through tourism (in Rupee terms) during the month of April 2018 were Rs 15,713 crore compared to Rs. 14,260 crore in April 2017. This was 10.2 percent growth over the earnings in the same month last year. On the other hand, FEEs during the period January-April 2018 were Rs. 68,629 crore, a growth of 14.2%, compared to the FEE of Rs. 60,079 crore in January-April 2017, according to Ministry of Tourism estimates.

Foreign Exchange Earnings (FEEs) through tourism (in US $ terms)

FEEs in US dollar terms during the month of April 2018 were $2.393 billion compared to FEEs of $ 2.211 billion during the month of April 2017. The growth rate in FEEs in US dollar terms in April 2018 over April 2017 was 8.2 percent.
 
FEEs during the period January-April 2018 were $ 10.621 billion, a growth of 17.4% compared to the FEE of $ 9.044 billion in January- April 2017, a growth of 17.5% over January-April 2016, the estimate says. Foreign Exchange Earnings from tourism are the receipts of the country as a result of consumption expenditure, i.e. payments made for goods and services acquired, by foreign visitors in the economy out of the foreign currency brought by them. The number of Domestic Tourist Visits to different states and Union Territories (UTs) are being compiled based on the information received from them.

Earlier, the Ministry of Tourism declared that there had been a 17 per cent growth in Foreign Exchange Earnings through tourism in India in March 2018 over the same period in 2017. FEEs during the month of March 2018 were Rs 17, 294 crore compared to Rs. 14, 667 crore in March 2017 and Rs 12, 985 crore in the same period of 2016, according to the estimate.
