The Ministry of Food Processing Industries(MoFPI) has set up grievance redressal cell to resolve problems of food processing industry during COVID-19 lockdown.

Union Food Processing Industries Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal in a tweet today said that industry members facing any problem in operations and distribution of food products could send their queries to covidgrievance-mofpi@gov.in.

Earlier today, MoFPI Secretary Pushpa Subrahmanyam wrote a letter to Chief Secretaries of all states regarding need for continued functioning of food industry and their suppliers, a government release said.

The letter contained list of essential food products and their inputs, the release said.

In her letter, the secretary pointed out the need to ensure availability of raw materials, packaging materials, movement of trucks carrying them, functioning of warehouses & cold storage and availability of workers to work in factories, for smooth running of production and distribution work, the release said.

MoFPI Secretary further asked Chief Secretaries of states to instruct District Collectors, Police and Transport officials to enable continued functioning of food products factories, movement of their products and inputs/raw materials and allowing workers to attend these factories.
