The Ministry of Finance has expressed hope of an improvement in collections on a month-on-month basis, Zee Business correspondent Tarun Sharma tells Managing Editor Anil Singhvi in this exclusive report.

The GST collection is expected to likely be in the range between Rs 1.37 and 1.39 lakh crore, Sharma said citing his top sources.

The GST collection base for this year is likely to be around 1.35 lakh crore and per month GST collection is expected around 1.35 lakh, said Sharma.

This year's estimated 1.35 lakh crore GST collection base is likely to surpass last year's 1 lakh crore GST collection, he further said.

The quarterly collections are impressive as the filing of returns is calculated quarterly and the finance ministry is expecting an increase in the monthly GST collection, claimed Tarun.

Further, he added that this is a piece of good news for the Ministry of Finance as the expected figures are more than the last year's month-on-month GST collection which was around 1 lakh.

A stable tax structure is seen being formed in the country, said Tarun to zee business.
