Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay's Bacchan Pandey, whose poster created quite a buzz in the webworld on Friday, are set for Christmas 2020 release. Both actors have a massive dedicated fan following of their own. The release of their films on the same day would certainly spice up the box office battle. It rarely happens when films of two big stars are released on the same day. Fans, however, would eagerly expect that makers of both movies do not change their minds.

Produced by Aamir Khan Productions and Viacom18 Motion Pictures, Laal Singh Chaddha is said to be the remake of Hollywood classic Forest Gump, which depicts the fictional story of a slow-witted but kind-hearted man from Alabama whose witnesses and unwittingly end up influencing several defining historical events in the US. The Indian remake of the movie, with Aamir Khan, at the helm, would certainly be an interesting watch. The storyline of Bachchan Pandey is still a mystery.

Aamir would be hoping for success after his last 'Thugs of Hindostan' tanked at the box office. Despite a Diwali release, the film crashed out on the first weekday itself after bumper Diwali weekend collections. As per trade website Box Office India, the total net gross collection of Thugs of Hindostan was Rs 138 crore. The film was also panned by critics because of its poor content. Aamir's flop show in Thugs of Hindostan came after super successful run comprising films like Dangal and Secret Superstar.

In contrast to Aamir, there is no stopping Akshay. He had delivered a series of hits with films like 2.0 and Kesari being his latest. The year 2019 is also lined up with exciting films like Mission Mangal, Housefull 4, Good News and Sooryavanshi. Made on a budget of just Rs 80 crore, Kesari collected over Rs 200 crore on the box office. Similarly, 2.0, where Akshay played the antagonist's role against superstar Rajinikanth, collected over Rs 800 crore worldwide!
