Diwali 2022: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, October 24, celebrated Diwali with soldiers in Kargil. Kargil is the joint capital of the Union Territory of Ladakh. While interacting with soldiers, PM Modi said, "For many years, you all are my family; sweetness and brightness of my Diwali is amid you."

Addressing the armed forces here on Diwali, he said that India has always viewed war as the last resort, but the armed forces have the strength and strategies to give a befitting reply to anyone who casts an evil eye on the nation.

Since coming to power in 2014, Modi has been visiting different military facilities to celebrate Diwali. His visit to Kargil comes close on the heels of Ayodhya visit. PM Modi was in Ayodhya yesterday where he performed darshan and pooja of Lord Rama. He also inaugurated the 'Deepotsav' celebrations, where a new Guinness World Record for the 'largest display of oil lamps' was set when more than 15.76 lakh earthen lamps were lit at the 'Ram ki Paidi' to celebrate the homecoming of Lord Rama.
