The state-owned oil companies like Indian Oil Corp Limited (IOCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corp Limited (HPCL) and Bharat Petroleum Corp Limited (BPCL) on Tuesday, decided to increase diesel prices by 7 paisa per litre each in various state capitals of India. However, the higher has been made at much higher rate compared to that of petrol, as the latter saw just 1 paisa per litre rise in states. Both petrol and diesel product today were in opposite direction, as global crude prices eased after ending last week with a solid bounce.

Diesel price in New Delhi: Diesel price in the national capital was up by 7 paisa and was available at Rs 62.80 per litre compared to Rs 62.73 per litre of the previous day. 

Diesel price in Kolkata: Similarly, 7 paisa hike was made here as diesel was available at Rs 65.49 per litre against Rs 65.42 per litre of the previous day. 

Diesel price in Mumbai: Diesel here was valued at Rs 66.88 per litre, up by 7 paisa, versus previous day price of Rs 66.81 per litre. 

Diesel price in Chennai: Diesel price in Chennai saw a surge of 7 paisa, and was available at Rs 66.21 per litre from Rs 66.14 per litre of previous day. 

Diesel prices in other state capitals: Other key cities also saw reduction in their diesel prices. The product in Bangalore was available at Rs 63.86 per litre, Bhopal at Rs 66.22 per litre, Bhubaneswar at Rs 67.36 per litre, Chandigarh at Rs 60.96 per litre, Dehradun at Rs 63.44 per litre, Gandhinagar at Rs 67.59 per litre, Hyderabad at Rs 68.23 per litre, Jaipur at Rs 67.16 per litre, Lucknow at Rs 63.28 per litre, Patna at Rs 67.38 per litre, Raipur at Rs 67.85 per litre and Srinagar at Rs 66.13 per litre. 

 U.S. crude fell 0.5% to settle at $62.06 per barrel and Brent settled at $66.05, down 0.24% on the day.
