Diesel price in India today: Like petrol prices, the state-owned Oil Companies today decided to increase the prices of diesel in the range of 22 paisa to 24 paisa each per litre in various state capitals of India. Among cities, Mumbai and Chennai saw the most hike in diesel prices during the day. Such was due to internation crude oil which continued its march higher, with Benchmark Brent crude up 1%, advancing its gains for the quarter and sidestepping data the day prior showing a surprise build in U.S. crude stockpiles. Meanwhile, petrol prices were hiked by 23 paisa to 24 paisa per litre each in various states. 
 
Diesel price in New Delhi: Diesel price in the national capital was up by 22 paisa and was available at Rs 64.14 per litre compared to Rs 63.92 per litre of the previous day.

Diesel price in Kolkata: Similarly, with 22 paisa hike diesel was available here at Rs 66.83 per litre against Rs 66.61 per litre of the previous day. 


 
 Diesel price in Mumbai: Diesel here increased by 23 paisa and was valued at Rs 68.30 per litre, versus previous day price of Rs 68.07 per litre. 
 

 
Diesel price in Chennai: Diesel price in Chennai saw a surge of 24 paisa, and was available at Rs 67.65 per litre from Rs 67.41 per litre of previous day. 
 

 
Diesel prices in other state capitals: The product in Bangalore was available at Rs 65.22 per litre, Bhopal at Rs 67.49 per litre, Bhubaneswar at Rs 68.81 per litre, Chandigarh at Rs 62.27 per litre, Dehradun at Rs 64.59 per litre, Gandhinagar at Rs 68.88 per litre, Hyderabad at Rs 69.69 per litre, Jaipur at Rs  68.41 per litre, Lucknow at Rs 64.43 per litre, Patna at Rs 68.74 per litre, Raipur at Rs 69.28 per litre and Srinagar at Rs 67.46 per litre. 

 

Talking about international crude prices, as per Reuters report, oil has risen about 4 percent since January, on track for the longest stretch of quarterly gains since late 2010. Also WTI`s discount to Brent has grown to more than $5 a barrel, the biggest since January, making Brent-linked crudes less attractive to refiners.

Moreover, prices for the more actively traded June Brent crude futures were up 58 cents to settle at $69.34, while the May contract expiring on Thursday was up 74 cents at $70.27. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures gained 56 cents to settle at $64.94.
