Diesel price in India today: Like petrol prices, the state-owned Oil Companies today decided to increase the prices of diesel in the range of 11 paisa to 12 paisa each per litre in various state capitals of India. Among cities, Mumbai and Chennai saw the most hike in diesel prices during the day. The diesel prices have been rising on the back of higher crude prices, and on Monday, they international commodity extended gains, lifted by a drop in U.S. drilling activity as well as by expectations that the United States could re-introduce sanctions against Iran. With the continuous rise in global crude prices, Indian state-owned oil companies are reluctant to reduce the prices of fuel product that including diesel - taking it to an all-time high. Meanwhile, petrol prices were surged between 10 paisa to 11 paisa per litre in various state capital. 
 
Diesel price in New Delhi: Diesel price in the national capital was up by 11 paisa and was available at Rs 64.69 per litre compared to Rs 64.58 per litre of the previous day. 
 

 
Diesel price in Kolkata: Similarly, with 11 paisa hike diesel was available here at Rs 67.38 per litre against Rs 67.27 per litre of the previous day.

Diesel price in Mumbai: Diesel here increased by 12 paisa and was valued at Rs 68.89 per litre, versus previous day price of Rs 68.77 per litre. 


 
Diesel price in Chennai: Diesel price in Chennai saw a surge of 12 paisa, and was available at Rs 68.24 per litre from Rs 68.12 per litre of previous day. 
 

 
Diesel prices in other state capitals: The product in Bangalore was available at Rs 65.78 per litre, Bhopal at Rs 68.07 per litre, Bhubaneswar at Rs 69.40 per litre, Chandigarh at Rs 62.80 per litre, Dehradun at Rs 65.06 per litre, Gandhinagar at Rs 69.47 per litre, Hyderabad at Rs 70.28 per litre, Jaipur at Rs  68.98 per litre, Lucknow at Rs 64.90 per litre, Patna at Rs 69.30 per litre, Raipur at Rs 69.87 per litre and Srinagar at Rs 68.01 per litre. 

Meanwhile, U.S. drillers cut seven oil rigs in the week to March 29, bringing the total count down to 797. It was the first time in three weeks that the rig-count fell.  U.S. crude futures rose 0.4 percent to $65.21 a barrel and Brent advanced 0.55 percent to $69.73 a barrel.
