Diabetic patients are more prone to getting severe symptoms of Covid-19. Even it is being said that Mucormycosis or black fungus which is a fungal infection is likely to affect diabetic patients more.

Amid the ongoing Covid situation in the country, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has listed out a few tips which can be used to prevent diabetes.

"People with diabetes are up to 3 times more likely to have severe symptoms from Covid-19!!," a tweet by PIB India read. It has also suggested to always keep the blood sugar level under control.  

It is of utmost importance that people do take care of their health to increase immunity in order to fight the virus.

 

How to prevent diabetes?

Here are some of the measures which can be used to prevent the disease:

1. Adopt healthy eating habits

2. Get regular medical check-ups

3. Do regular physical exercise

4. Increase intake of fruits and vegetables

5. maintain ideal body weight

6. Limit the consumption of foods and drinks containing a high amount of sugar

As per the latest data, India has registered 3.11 lakh new Covid cases in the last 24 hours. The total caseload in the country now stands at 2.46 crore. 4,077 deaths in the last 24 hours have also been reported, taking the total number of deaths to 2.7 lakh.
