On Tuesday, the Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), Tamil Nadu, have decided to extend the exam duration for students in Class 10, 11 and 12. The duration of the Board exams for Class 10, 11 and 12 will be extended by 30 minutes.

Earlier, the students use to get 2 hours and 30 minutes duration for the paper but now after adding more 30 minutes duration, students will now get 3 hours to complete the board exams question paper.

This decision was taken after the board received requests from numerous students stating that 2 and half hours is not enough for them to give their best for the examination. Earlier, Class XI and Class XII exams were for 3 hours, later the duration was bought down just after the subject marks was reduced from 200 to 100. Also, the total marks were reduced from 1200 to 600 marks.

Notably, DGE will conduct the Class 12th exam from March 2 to March 24, 2020. The Class 11th board exam will be held from March 4 to March 26, and Class 10th exams from March 27 to April 13, 2020.
