Delhi Weather Forecast, Rain: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted an induced cyclonic circulation over Rajasthan could bring some relief to Delhiites from scorching heat. It said that rainfall could lash Delhi and neighbouring states later this week.

It said that rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds in is very likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and northeast India on March 13-14. Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and hailstorms likely over South, Central and East and northeast India from March 15 to 17.

Rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is very likely over Western Himalayan Region from 13 - 15; over Punjab and Rajasthan on 13 March 2023. Isolated hailstorm activity is also likely over Uttarakhand on 13 March.

Meanwhile, Delhi recorded the maximum temperature settling at 33.4 degrees Celsius, four notches above the season's average on Monday. The city recorded a minimum temperature of 17.1 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average. Humidity levels oscillated between 34 per cent and 88 per cent.  

The weather office has forecast partly cloudy skies with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to settle around 33 and 16 degrees Celsius, respectively, on Tuesday.

Delhi air quality index

Delhi's 24-hour air quality index read 241, which was in the poor category. An AQI between zero and 50 is considered "good", 51 and 100 "satisfactory", 101 and 200 "moderate", 201 and 300 "poor", 301 and 400 "very poor", and 401 and 500 "severe".
