Delhi Metro timings on 15 August 2022, Independence Day: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has said that Metro train services in Delhi will continue to run as per the normal schedule on the occasion of 15 August 2022 -- Independence Day 2022.

However, the parking facilities will remain closed at Delhi Metro stations. The parking facilities will be closed for public access till 15 August, Monday, afternoon (2 pm) in view of security measures adopted for Independence Day. 

ITO and Lal Quila metro station has been opened for entry and exit. The stations were closed for security reasons.  

"Parking facilities will not be available at Delhi Metro stations from 6:00 AM on 14th August 2022 till 2:00 PM on 15th August 2022 in view of the security measures adopted on the occasion of Independence Day. However, the Metro train services will continue to run," the DMRC said in a Tweet.

 

 

Delhi Traffic Advisory 

The Delhi Traffic Police has also issued a traffic advisory for free movement of vehicles on the occasion of Independence Day in the national capital. The area around the Red Fort has been sealed in view of the Independence Day celebrations. No movement of traffic will be allowed from till 10 am in the vicinity.

These 8 roads will remain closed for general traffic:

1. Netaji Subhash Marg from Delhi Gate to Chatta Rail.

2. Lothian Road from GPO Delhi to Chatta Rail.

3. SP Mukherjee Marg from HC Sen Marg to Yamuna Bazar Chowk.

4. Chandni Chowk Road from Fountain Chowk to Red Fort.

5. Nishad Raj Marg from Ring Road to Netaji Subhash Marg.

6. Esplanade Road and its Link Road to Netaji Subhash Marg.

7. Ring Road from Rajghat to ISBT.

8. Outer ring Road from ISBT to IP Flyover - Salimgarh Bypass.

Independence Day: Roads blocked in Delhi 

Buses traveling to Kauria Pul/Red Fort/Old Delhi Railway Station will pass via ISBT bridge (Yudhistir Setu) and terminate at Boulevard Road near Mori Gate U-Turn, the advisory said.

All the buses terminating at Old Delhi Railway Station, Red Fort, Bhai Mati Dass Chowk, Mori Gate, ISBT, Pragati Maidan and Ambedkar Stadium Terminal shall terminate opposite Turkman Gate Asaf Ali Road instead, according to the advisory.

Buses heading towards Red Fort, Old Delhi Railway Station, Bhai Mati Dass Chowk (Fountain) from South Delhi will be diverted via Ring Road – NH-24, Marginal Bandh (Pushta) Road and new ISBT Bridge, and will terminate on Boulevard Road, the advisory added.
