Delhi MCD election 2021 results updates: AAP candidates were leading in four wards as the counting for municipal bypolls began on Wednesday morning, election officials said.

The AAP candidates were leading in Shalimar Bagh North, Kalyanpuri, Trilokpuri and Rohini- C wards.

AAP candidates leading by 6,227 votes in Ward No 08-E(Kalyanpuri), 3,791 votes in Ward No 02-E(Trilokpuri), 1,759 votes in Ward No 62N, (Shalimar Bagh North) & 2,157 votes in Ward No 32N(Rohini-C). Congress candidate Chaudhary Zubair Ahmad extends lead as he is leading by 8,323 votes in Chauhan Bangar seat.

Aam aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Ram Chander leading by 1,577 votes in Rohini C ward after 6 rounds of counting. Sunita Mishra of AAP leading by 994 votes in Shalimar Bagh (North) ward after 3 rounds of counting.

Early trends from east corporation wards

Chaudhary Zubair Ahmad (Congress) leading by 5339 votes in Chauhan Banger ward after 4 rounds of counting. Dhirender Kumar (AAP) leading by 3703 votes in Kalyanpuri ward after 4 rounds of counting. Vijay Kumar (AAP) leading by 1559 votes in Trilokpuri-East wad after 2 rounds of counting.

The Congress candidate was leading in Chauhan Bangar.

More than 50 per cent votes were cast in the bypolls for the five municipal wards held on February 28.

Out of the five wards, four were held by the AAP while Shalimar Bagh North had a BJP councillor.

The results of all the five wards where the AAP, BJP and the Congress were main rivals is expected to out later on the day.
