The Indian Railways has cancelled a large number of trains which run through Odisha, which is the worst-affected state due to cyclone Fani, and contiguous states like West Bengal, and Assam. The national transporter earlier announced the cancellation of 169 trains from May 1 to May 5, 2019. Later, many other trains have been cancelled. Besides the trains, which originate or terminate in Bhubaneswar and Puri, other trains to Kolkata and northeastern states have also been cancelled as a precautionary measure.

Trains from South, north, central or Western regions which cross the cyclone Fani-affected areas have also been cancelled.  15906 - Dibrugarh -Kanyakumari Vivek express, 12504-Agartala-Bengaluru  Humsafar Express stand cancelled today and 12510-Guwahati-Bengaluru   (Kaziranga) SF Express will not run tomorrow. These trains connect northeast with south India. 

Eastern Railways also cancelled a large number of trains which include Puri-Sealdah Duronto Express, Muzaffarpur-Yesvantpur Express, Secunderabad- Guwahati Express, Puri-Kamakhya Express. These trains were scheduled between May 4 and May 6. Eastern Railways also suspended local train services. 

Western Railways has also cancelled many trains which terminate in cyclone-affected areas or originate from there. The passengers should check updated information on Railway official websites. Indian Railways said that it will run special trains for stranded passengers at various points.

The Railways has not yet revealed anything about when the normal train services will be resumed.
