COVID-19 Vaccine India Latest News: The country is struggling with the widespread COVID-19 pandemic at present. However, the vaccination drive is a reason to look forward to as a shield against this pandemic. The government has announced that the third phase vaccination drive that includes all adults above 18 years of age starting from May 1, 2021. Despite the announcement, the lack of vaccines in some cases can be a cause of concern for the common people.

As per a report by dnaindia.com, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Sunday said that vaccination for those aged 45 years and above will remain closed on Monday. The BMC has taken such a decision due to the shortage of COVID-19 vaccines. The BMC also stated that the vaccination will take place for the people between the age group 18 and 44. The BMC stated, "Due to the shortage of doses, vaccination for the people above 45 years will not be conducted on Monday."

It has also been clarified that only those who have registered themselves in CoWin app and who have been given the prescribed immunisation centre and time (slot) would be given the shot.

The shortage of COVID-19 vaccine is not only restricted to BMC, but it is a common trend that is being witnessed all over the country. As per a report by ANI, last Friday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also appealed to the citizens of the national capital to restrain from queuing up vaccination centres as vaccines have not yet been received. He said, "I request you not to queue up at the centres tomorrow. As soon as the vaccines come, we will make proper announcements. Only then people with appointments can start coming to the centres."
Again, the West Bengal government has also declared that the vaccination drive for people between 18 and 44 years of age will begin when the state receives the vaccine doses. The state government also assured about the fact that the vaccination for those above 45 years of age will continue.

Coming back to BMC, the Municipal Corporation listed Nair Hospital, BKC jumbo Covid Centre, Cooper Hospital, Seven Hills Hospital, and the Rajawadi hospital to administer the vaccine doses.

The Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray that the vaccine doses for 18-44 years people will be given as per the availability and in the meantime the people should not crowd at the vaccination centres.
