The Union Health Ministry reported 67,084 new coronavirus infections in India, bringing the country's total number of COVID-19 cases to 4,24,78,060, while the number of active cases dropped to 7,90,789 on Thursday. Weekly Positivity Rate is presently at 6.58 per cent while Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 4.44 per cent.

According to data updated at 8 am, the death toll climbed to 5,06,520 with 1,241 new fatalities.

Active cases of COVID-19 comprise 1.86 percent of the total infections, while the national recovery rate has improved to 96.95 percent, according to the ministry.

A reduction of 1,02,039 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Union Minister of Health Mansukh Mandaviya on Wednesday said that over one crore children in the 15-18 age group are now fully vaccinated in India.

India's COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, and 50 lakh on September 16. It went past 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, crossed 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20, and surpassed the one-crore mark on December 19.

India crossed the grim milestone of two crore on May 4 and three crore on June 23 last year.
