COVID-19 Lockdown in Delhi e-pass application: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has extended the lockdown in the national capital due to the unprecedented spike in the number of COVID-19 cases. Earlier, lockdown was imposed last week, from April 19, 2021, to April 26, 2021.

While addressing the press conference on Sunday, the Delhi Chief Minister said, "We had imposed a 6-day lockdown in Delhi. The lockdown is being extended to next Monday (May 3) till 5 AM." Apart from announcing a lockdown till April 26, 2021, earlier, the Delhi government had also announced a closure of the malls, gymnasiums and auditoriums till April 30, 2021, because of the surge in the number of COVID-19 cases in the national capital.

However, the essential services will be allowed during the lockdown. The movement of the individuals, however, will be allowed only with the possession of an e-pass (in soft or hard copy). The people related to essential services can apply for an e-Pass for Delhi COVID-19 lockdown by following some simple steps. These are as follows:

Step 1: In order to apply for an e-pass for Delhi COVID-19 lockdown, the individuals will have to visit the Delhi government's official website at delhi.gov.in.

Step 2: Then they will have to click on the link that says 'Click here to apply for e-pass' present on the homepage

Step 3: Clicking on the link will redirect to a fresh page where one has to choose the language, English or Hindi, as per his or her convenience

Step 4: Then one will see a question - "What do you need help with?" to which, one has to select "e-Pass to travel during curfew

Step 5: A new page will open where the individual will have to provide all details including contact number, name of the applicant, district, address of Office or place of engagement and type of service. One will also have to submit the ID proof (maximum file size: 4MB) and a letter your employer/ owner of the firm/outlet/establishment that the firm/outlet/establishment is associated in providing the essential services and that the applicant's services as an employee, is essentially required in the smooth delivery/providing of the said services during the curfew hours.

As per a report by Delhi Health Department bulletin, the total number of coronavirus cases in the city has gone up to 10,04,782 and the death toll has gone up to 13,898.
