COVID-19 Coronavirus Cases: India has recorded a total number of 1,94,720 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours on Wednesday, as per the data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).

Due to the rise in the number of COVID-19 and Omicron variant cases, several states have undertaken certain measures in order to contain the spread of the disease.

Here are the latest updates that people must know about the latest developments on the COVID-19 situation in the country. They are as follows:

Private offices closed in Delhi
The Delhi government on Tuesday directed the closure of all private offices, except those in exempted categories, amid rising number of COVID-19 cases. The private offices, which were till now operating with 50 per cent workforce, have been asked to follow the practice of work from home.

Only those who are exempted, which are falling under exempted category, will be able to open private offices. The DDMA decision is in view of increasing cases of coronavirus in Delhi.

Delhi COVID-19 cases expected to fall?
Zee Business reporter Ambarish Pandey reported that the Delhi Health Minister in a statement said that the COVID-19 cases is expected to fall soon in the national capital.
He informed that on Tuesday, 12,400 beds were empty and 2200 beds were full. Furthermore, the number of hospital cases have not been increasing in the last three to four days.
He added that the restrictions will be relaxed if the number of cases decrease in the next two to three days. It must be noted that a similar gesture has been adopted in Mumbai as well.

Omicron cases in the country
4,868 cases of Omicron variant have been recorded in the country so far, as per the data from the MoHFW.

COVID-19 vaccination scenario
As for the COVID-19 vaccination scenario,153.80 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
