Zee Business reporter Anurag Shah reported that the Maharashtra government directed that all employees at all outlets of the malls to be vaccinated with both the doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. All the malls decided to shut down from this afternoon in case the government's condition was not met.

The malls in Mumbai and surrounding areas were closed for almost four months before they were reopened on August 15, 2021. However, yesterday, a circular from the Maharashtra government stated that the employees of the malls should be vaccinated with both the doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Zee Business reporter Anurag Shah further reported that according to Mukesh Kumar, Chairman, Shopping Centres Association of India and CEO, Infinity Mall, there has been some hope after business was closed for 4 months but the government imposed conditions that are practically impossible to meet. As a results, all the malls in and around Mumbai will have to shut down only two days after they were reopened.

It has also been reported that the retail organisation will meet Maharashtra Chief Secretary.

Incidentally, Maharashtra government resumed the Mumbai local train services for common people who have received both the doses of COVID-19 vaccine from August 15, 2021.
