Constable recruitment examination 2018: The examination has been conducted successfully yesterday, amid internet blockade to ensure no wrongdoing by miscreants. Over 15 lakh candidates applied for 13,142 posts. At 664 centers across 78 cities, more than 10 lakh aspirants appeared for the examination. The examination took place in four shifts over two days.

Police administration claimed success in organising the exams without any major disruption. However, few complaints regarding mistakes in examination card were there. Police also nabbed some who tried to rig in the examination.

The department was very careful this time and had deployed senior officers and special teams on vigilance during the examination as the last constable recruitment examination was cancelled after a large-scale hacking was exposed at several examination centers.  

In a bid to prevent the use of cell phones for cheating during the exams, the internet services were blocked by the police near all examinations centers. However, the general public had to face a major inconvenience due to the internet problem. The city residents had difficulty in accessing online services, the aspirants were unable to use the map services to locate their centers.

Meanwhile, the transportation services also saw an impact of the examination. The railways had added 12 extra coaches in 10 of its trains in consideration of a large number of people traveling for examinations. Extra measures were also made for safety at the railway stations. According to the officials, nearly 1.5 lakh aspirants arrived at Jaipur each day for the exams. The online cab and auto services at the cities though remain down due to internet restrictions, reports DNA.
