Chennai Metro recruitment 2018: Applications  have been invited  from  Engineers in Civil, Electrical, Electronics and Mechanical for CMRL sponsored PG Diploma Course in Metro Rail Technology and Management. There are 25 seats. On completion of the course successfully, the trainees will be posted as Assistant Manager for a period of 5 years with Chennai Metro Rail Ltd. During this period they will be paid a consolidated pay of Rs 40,000 per month. The contract will be renewed if requirement exists on mutually agreed terms subject to the performance of the candidate, according to the notification issued by Chennai Metro.

Candidates who excel during the course and secure a CGPA of 8.5 or more, will be granted two advance increments upon joining, it said. Other candidates will be granted only one advance increment at the time of posting. If a candidate fail to complete the course will not be posted in the Chennai Metro and have to pay a bond amount of Rs 6 Lakh to Chennai Metro as training cost.

Age Limit:
Candidates age should not be more than 28 years as on June 27, 2018. There is 3 years age relaxation  for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
Educational  Qualification:
Candidates must hold first-class degree in Electrical  &  Electronics  / Electronics  &  Communication Engineering  from  a  recognised  University/Institute. They should obtain 70%  marks in aggregate. There is 5%  relaxation in marks for  SC/ST  candidates. At the time of applying, the  candidates  should have  a  valid  GATE  score. 

Selection  Process:
The  candidates  will be short  listed  on the basis of  qualifying examination and GATE  score. Selected candidates will  be  called  for  a  test/interview.  This will be  conducted  at  IIT  Madras. Final selection will be subject to medical fitness.5. 
CMRL  will  pay  a  stipend  of  Rs.20,000 per  month  to the candidates and also the necessary sponsorship and tuition fees to IIT Madras.  
If the trainees do not join Chennai Metro  within 10 days of successfully completing the course but, their candidature will lapse and they will have to pay a bond amount of Rs 6 Lakh.
