Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today announced a new centrally sponsored scheme PM Aatmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana to be launched with a budget outlay of Rs 64,180 crore over 6 years. She said that investment on health infrastructure in Budget 2021 has increased substantially. She said this while reading her Budget 2021 speech on Monday (1 February). Three areas - Preventive health, curative health and well-being will be strengthened, she said today.

She said that the Budget 2021 proposals rest on six pillars viz. Health and Well-Being; Physical and Financial capital and infrastructure; Inclusive Development for Aspirational India; Reinvigorating Human Capital; Innovation and R&D.
