Budget 2020: The Union Budget is less than two weeks ago and if you have a suggestion for Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, this is you last chance to submit it. To make the Budget-making process inclusive, the finance ministry has been seeking inputs from citizens for the last few years. This year too, we saw a similar approach from the Ministry for Budget 2020 which is set to be presented in the Parliament on February 1, 2020, by finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

It had asked for suggestions for the citizens and January 20 is the last date to submit that. The ministry reminded of the same by putting out a tweet on Saturday afternoon. "Last two days for submitting your suggestions for the Union Budget 2020-21. Please send all your ideas by 20th January 2020," a tweet from Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said.

"Citizens from all walks of life are welcome to be a part of this democratic exercise. You can submit your suggestions either directly in the comments box or attach a PDF document. We seek your valuable ideas to continue the tradition of the Union Budget incorporating the citizens’ aspirations," mygov.in website says.

For those unaware, the Union Budget will be presented in the Parliament on February 1 at 11 am. Earlier, the Railway Budget and Union Budget were presented separately but in 2017, the Narendra Modi government merged both. It also advanced the date of the budget by a month.

As this year's Budget falls on a Saturday, Parliament as well as stock exchanges, which are usually closed on weekends, will conduct business.
