As per reports, the earthquake was epicentred in Gopalganj area of neighbouring Bangladesh.

Earthquake in Assam, Meghalaya: Intensity on Richter Scale

As per reports, the earthquake measured 4.8 on the Richeter Scale.

According to the National Centre for Seismology, the earthquake tremors were felt at 10.16 am on Friday.

The officials said that the powerful tremors were felt in many parts of Assam and in several places in Meghalaya. 

As per inital reports, no loss of life or damage to property was recorded.

5 earthquakes hit Jammu region in a day

Jammu region was jolted by five earthquakes this week, which triggered panic among locals.

The most potent jolt measured 5.4 on the Richter Scale and struck the Doda district of the Union Territory.

The string of quakes — both big and small — prompted the locla administration to shut down schools, colleges and other educational institutes in the districts of Doda and Kishtwar in Jammu.
